The Sweetwater Marsh is a 300-acre wildlife refuge within 10 driving-miles of the Tijuana River Valley. The visitor’s center provides exhibits, guided nature and bird walks, a shark and ray exhibit, and the opportunity to view native birds in outdoor aviaries that support burrowing owls, shorebirds, egrets, and herons. Groundbreaking for the Otay Valley Regional Park Trails was�celebrated on September 15, 2006. The new�regional trail system for equestrians, hikers, and bikers will consist of 8.3 miles of trails and�seven staging areas between Saturn Blvd (19th St.) and Hwy 805.�The ceremony was held at the OVRP Beyer Boulevard staging area. This multi-jurisdictional project of City of San Diego, City of Chula Vista, and County of San Diego will be completed in 2008.
