MAU TRVEA separated, November 10, 2007, Tijuana River Reserve Visitors Center: TRVEA and California State Parks agreed to put MAU under the State Parks Department. The strong volunteer program at the Reserve integrates MAU into their organization and provides a framework where equestrians can qualify and ride in the MAU for Border Field State Park and the USFWS. TRVEA believed the time was right for this transfer because in the last year the volunteer program at the Reserve has become strongly organized and integrated across many volunteer functions. Contact Sarah Emerson at Border Field State Park for information. 

Incentives to ride with the Mounted Assistance Unit:
Educate visitors of regional history, culture, & environmental values;
Learn the animals, plants, & trails of the entire valley;
Contribute to the knowledge & preservation of the park and refuge;
